Crosby Beach

Crosby Beach is a pretty good place at the best of times. It sits just around the corner from the edge of the River Mersey and is a great vantage point to watch the ships entering and departing the Mersey Estuary.

Add to that the installation of Antony Gormley's "Another Place" - made up of 100 iron sculptures (of himself) facing out to sea.

They are positioned cleverly so that at different stages of high or low tide - gradually a head may start to appear above the water and over the mincing minutes and hours - the full revelation of the whole sculpture.

On this particular visit there was something of an invasion of rather large jelly fish with markings bizarrely emulating smiley faces! Pretty gross though!
