Normandy (D Day Landing Beaches)

The following pages are probably the photographs I'm most proud of - not because of their photographic quality (since they're just average) - rather because over two years I took my son to properly investigate and record the scene of one of the most remarkable war time periods in the history of warfare - and without which our lives wouldn't exist in the way they do now.

These shots are listed and presented as an act of wholly understated respect and admiration for what took place here and the people who took part. Despite trying to imagine myself in the place of these incredible people - and actually standing in their footsteps - I have no ability to truly imagine what it must have been like to actually set foot on the beaches of Normandy in the conditions and circumstances of 6th June 1944 and the following days and months. This surely is completely beyond comprehension.

As for the trips - I will never forget these experiences as long as I live and I'm delighted that Ben had the opportunity to be part of this.
