Stockton and Beamish

 

Our first visit to Kate whilst she was at University. The medic campus for Durham University is situated in a relatively modern site overlooking the River Tees at Stockton.

 

For our first visit we also popped up the road to visit Beamish Museum. I lived in County Durham until I was 18 years old and revisited many times after that - however this was my first visit to the highly impressive  site. The Primary School at Beamish was unnerving - since it was clearly designed as standard stock for County Durham Primary Schools. This meant that when I was in the building I knew exactly where I was - as it was identical in lay out to the Primary School I first attended as a child (Horden Catholic Primary School - before it burned down!)
